I attended a local WPPI event today, just a conference put on where photogs can get together and learn how to be better and better at what we do. It’s a blast really. We heard from several great speakers, but the most interesting was the guy we heard right after lunch (que Caleb’s great memory for names, which escapes me now). His topic, passion.
It’s easy to lose sight when you get busy running a business – working to make sure every aspect of what you do is handled smoothly. Because I want to make sure that I’m delivering the most amazing experience that’s possible. Passion is what drives us though, because when we’re operating with passion we are better people.
We get distracted from that passion sometimes though. I do. This speaker showed us a series of images and gave us stories behind them, how the emotion was driving the day – the loving looks in the eyes of two newlyweds, all filled with passion. If he were any more into it he would have literally burst into flames right there in front of me on stage.
It’s a small insignificant jaunt to you I’m sure, but it has an honest impact on me. I picked up a reminder. A reminder to live passionately for everything that I do – live my life to the fullest. See the photography all around me even if I don’t shoot ALL of it. Remember why I love photography.
How are you living passionately today? You’re planning out your new life and the event of the year to kick it off. Are you still being true to yourself? Don’t get lost in things, they’ll only fade away. Find your passion in love for each other and for our amazing God. Find your passion for living.
Thanks for listening guys. Back to new photos tomorrow!
